CAREER SUMMARY


I started my health safety career at Sutton Manor Colliery where I was appointed Safety Officer in 1987. There I had responsibility for all H&S matters such as the mine environment, dust control, control and issue of explosives, control and maintenance of medical gases and apparatus, control of anaesthetics' and surface environmental controls as well as the day to day health & safety issues.

In 1993 when the mines closed I became a self-employed Health & Safety Advisor advising various clients on all aspects of Occupational Health & Safety in various industrial sectors and conducting accident investigations relating to liability claims for firms of solicitors.

In 1995 I became Company Safety Officer for an engineering manufacturing company, Northern Conveyors Limited.

In 1997 I became Senior Safety, Health and Environmental Adviser for AMEC Civil Engineering.

2005 Morgan Ashurst (formally Bluestone Plc) Regional Safety, Health & Environmental Adviser.

I joined ISG Regions, (now ISG Construction) in my role as Health & Safety Manager in March 2008 and was promoted to Head of HSQ&E (Associate director) in 2010.

In 2012 during the construction recession I changed industry and worked at Argos Distribution and Transport in the role of, Health and Safety Change Manager.

Working as Associate Consultant at Safer Sphere CHS Ltd in St Helens providing H&S services to small and Medium sized construction organisations.
