Who Am I? - I am "Les" to my friends and colleagues.

I am married, have two daughters and five grandchildren and live in Haydock, North West England.

What I Believe

I am a pragmatic individual with a strong belief that nothing is so important that it can’t be done safely. I believe in the rights of the workforce to go home in the same or better condition than when they arrived.

What I do

I am a self-motivated and innovative Health & Safety professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to various working conditions.

With twenty-five years experience in high-risk activities like mining, civil engineering and general construction I have developed and proven abilities in team leading, training, statistical analysis, root cause analysis, innovative idea designs and business KPI setting and monitoring.

Throughout my career I have had a consistent record of decreasing accident/incident rates; I have been instrumental in introducing behavioural programmes and contributing to operational goals.

I have successfully designed and installed Audit and Management systems that are compliant with OHSAS:18001, ISO:14001 and ISO:9001 and ISO:45001.
